Commission: After Midnight by =KabukiKatze
Here’s a different side of my character Shelly Ericson, courtesy of Kabuki Katze. This was inspired by a photoshoot involving another friend who was doing some modeling at the time. She reminds me of Shelly in several ways, so I thought it would be fun to try to capture the feel of those pictures without just copying them.
Ironically, the most challenging part of this commission was the staircase - Kabuki had never drawn one! I think she came through like a champ for having to learn on the job.

This was somewhat inevitable, as far as references go. Still have a soft spot in my heart for this picture of my favorite couple.
For Celamowari, a spooky tie-in to his recent series of faux TV-Guide covers featuring Public Domain superheroes! For this outing it’s a Public Domain villain, Dr. Macabre of Holyoke’s ‘Cat-Man’ comics, who is getting a cover feature!
Dr. Macabre is sporting a paint-job inspired by rocker Arthur Brown and is gracing a cover inspired by monster mag Famous Monsters of Filmland. As much as I loved working on that sinister stringbean figure, I think mimicking the period typography was the real fun!
Such a great piece, too! In fact, it’s only my most recent computer troubles that have prevented me from posting about it already!
Commission: In Case of Fire by =KabukiKatze
I thought this saucy pin-up of my character Firegirl would serve as a good image for my “announcement” that I’ve just labeled OWARI 2.0 as NSFW in my settings.
This is something I’ve been considering for awhile now. Since my main blog is already by definition worksafe (usually), it felt silly to maintain a policy of censoring what I wanted to post here. I’ve decided to dispense with that as of today.
What can you expect? Well, it won’t be much different for the most part. There will, however, probably be more naked ladies, and occasionally naked dudes, too. I don’t plan to include any hardcore stuff here, so there’s that.
I suppose there’s a chance this might be a dealbreaker for someone. I have 22 followers at this writing, and while I hope I don’t lose anyone with this decision, I respect it if you decide you’d rather bow out. I’m just trying to have fun, and if you’re not having fun, that’s a good enough reason for me.
